The Punch Line ~ Comedy Club Performance

A Testimonial to a Gift

.....Lissajous-Do is without a doubt the greatest gift to ever come into my life.
It's forever giving and has enhanced my life in every facet. The stimulation through the actual physical performance of this virtuoso art and science makes me feel so alive. It's a cosmic futuristic art, yet it is a throw back to the ancient sacred martial arts world. The performance frees you to become one with the nature of your most primal and instinctual body mechanics. An art that teaches you more about yourself than you ever knew.

It is a valuable gift, an outlet for self-expression. It allows one to act and behave in such a manor that is joyous, genuine, and innocently playful. From an artistic perception it is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Athletically, it takes a tremendous amount of energy, coordination, and determination to be performed correctly. It's been the perfect martial art for me and has taught me all the great lessons of the "martial arts way". The priceless championship attributes of self-discipline, self-esteem, spirit, timing, rhythm, balance and harmony come into practice through harnessing of Lissajous-Do.

It is the most beautiful, constructive, creative, and productive martial art that I have ever witnessed. Its an absolutely perfect physiological workout, strengthening the muscles, organs and circulatory system as it allows a person to raise they're heart rate at a healthy pace without any impact, or wear and tear of the joints. Its a pure stress relieving meditation. Imagine a new exhilarating experience, which strengthens the body, and exercises one's thought processing skills every time it's performed!

I do not completely know yet why this art has come into my life. I do not know why I'm so fortunate to have been touched by this heavenly science, this Lissajous Do. Or why I've been so privileged to find something that I love to do with free will. I may not know everything, but to the best of my knowledge I know that it just feels right and there is nothing else I'd rather be doing. I also know its taught me to be myself, and being myself has taught me to be a better person.

Lissajous-Do has without a doubt, impacted my life most positively and has influenced it forever. It's a great honor, though I am truly humble to be able to carry on a holy martial arts tradition. I thank God for the ability to do it and I am truly appreciative of the pioneer efforts of Grand Master Roy Williams, and the art that he has created, Lissajous-Do. The kindness and ingenious knowledge he has shared with the world, has invited us all to achieve more.

Thank You Grand Master Roy Williams for being "The Master Under Light

Greatness Personified

Now I see the light.
At the time I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Even though I had no idea what was being performed, even as I was dazed into culture shock by the sheer uniqueness of the situation, I knew I loved it. It was as if it was from a different planet, and brought forth a most mesmerizing cosmic experience. I remember a feeling of heightened alertness as I watched with childlike enthusiasm, lured into a relaxing hypnotic visual journey. I didn't have to do anything but sit and observe with amazement, wonderment, and joy. Such unimaginable speeds, colors, shapes, all rapped in a beautiful blend of art, science, and human being. If Roy Williams has ever swung chux in front of you too than you know the feeling, the Halo Aura experience.

Roy Williams is the greatest martial artist I have ever seen.
So great in fact that all his greatest attributes such as wisdom, athleticism, uniqueness, motivation, kindness, as well the greatest martial arts IQ ever, is often misinterpreted through his humility. In other words he is the Beethoven, the Elvis Presley, and the Stradivarius of the Martial Arts, he is the greatest at what he has conceptionally created and graciously displays. What he does with a set of Roy Chux in his hands is so far ahead of anyone else's time, it's impossible to critique or pass judgment on him.

Unfortunately for Roy, everyone was ignorant to what they saw, but they are not necessarily to blame. Nobody has ever moved the chux like him. Speed, Power or just pure sequence of motion. So he continued on with his nobility glowing as bright as his flailing glow chux. He's the first person to really swing chux and do tricky hand-offs.
He received his Ph.D. in physics and then renamed Roy Rings "Ratios" as the Lissajous Figures, the traced out physics patterns of motion that Roy had already created with the chux.

For the first time ever martial arts has met physics. What does this mean? A new system is born from the heart, body, soul and mind of Roy Williams and his creation of Lissajous Do. The significance of this revolutionary, a martial art that teaches a person to teach themselves. Furthermore, Williams now has a full-complete system in place to teach and convey through the physics of ratio-based motion, what on earth is it that he is doing? When he throws the chux they rotate and revolve around his body in such an orbital fashion that neither a stride in his body nor a phase in his chux is broke. The chux just seem to soar and take flight on their own, dancing in the air, returning right back into the palm of his hand as he immediately falls back into another blazing move, that's right on the microsecond of the catch. He moves at light speed, it's impossible to know what it is he is doing unless you understand the true inherent physics of the motion that he conducts.

He has spent a lifetimes worth harnessing and honing into his God-given talent and intellect. Everyday of thirty some odd years or so has been greatly spend pursuing the perfection of his craft. From designing a science of nunchaku martial arts, creating a black light show, Halo Aura Art - Photos, and yes, even creating the very chux he swings. Realizing that the chux needed to be perfectly balanced in order to accurately pull off the maneuvers he wanted to, he revised the nunchaku. What was once a farming tool, then a martial arts weapon, has now become an instrument of motion. As a musician can conduct music through meter, beat and tempo, Williams was able to now conduct motion through the timing, rhythm and balance of physics.

This revelation had made him gallantly proud, as it should. For he realized with the dawning of this instrument he had created, he provided a tool which moved the martial arts world in another direction. He had created a Zen-like, self mastery art, which he is no doubt the Grand Master of. An art that allows one to aspire to be a champion in the martial arts community without having to fight, or conquer somebody else. In essence allowing a person to become one with the chux, self and of the earth. In all of my time learning from Grand Master Roy Williams, I know he is most proud of creating something peaceful, that can joyfully bring people together in harmony. A universal art that is completely free of all race, religion, age, gender, political or any other barrier known to man's existence. His ability for sharing his inner beauty and genius through his majestic art that genuinely touches people is spectacular and legendary. Second to NONE.

Roy Williams walks a higher path, not just for the greatness of his performing talent but his kindness and desire to treat others with respect. His humanitarian efforts are parallel to his martial arts phenomenon. His consistent relentless desire to succeed and help others succeed at their goals, is extremely aspiring. Personally, I could not have asked for a more perfect teacher. When I first saw him swing chux, I was stumped. I hadn't a clue as to what it was he did that separated him from everyone else. I remember wishing to myself to be able to swing chux like that someday. Roy Williams took me into his studio, under his wing and showed me how. I learned much more than how to swing chux from him too, I've learned to believe in myself, and believe in what I do. I learned to constantly strive to be a better person. I learned to be proud of who I am, where I came from, and where I am going. I found inner strength in his love and passion for life. He has indeed helped, guided and assisted me to realize my hopes, dreams and potential, and I cannot thank him enough.

GRAND MASTER ROY WILLIAMS ~ Thank You for being a kind friend, role model, and teacher. For enlightening me with your wisdom, knowledge and martial arts system. Thank You for all the time and sacred information that you have passed onto me. If it wasn't for your graciousness of actually breaking down, step by step, ratio by ratio, move to move...that you have for ALL OF US, we wouldn't do what it is that we do, or how it is that we do it... As each passing day moves forward my love grows deeper for swinging chux, and I gain a renewed appreciation for life. I respectfully and humbly know it is a great honor and will do my undeniable best to carry the holy tradition.

Sincerely,
Zubin Laliwala

Grand Master Roy and Mary Williams...
They are simply two of the most amazing people I have ever met.
They are such a huge inspiration to me, and not just in karate. Our many talks seem to send my mind into
perpetual motion, dreaming of the future, and what is out there to be accomplished. Grand Master once told
me, "A flame does not die because it lights another flame." Trust Me! My flame has been lit,
and my fire fueled by their incredible teachings. I never feel so alive as when I have a pair of chux in my hand;
"Roy Chux", to be exact..(and they are exact, there is no comparison on the market). I have always had
major dreams, and one of mine was simply to meet Grand Master Roy. Now we have met, and I was simply
amazed. The generosity of the RhythmArts family still blows my mind. My eyes have been opened, and I see
"the light". If you ever get a chance to meet such a Master, do not be afraid to speak to him.
Some martial artists make it huge, and then so do their heads...but not these two!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Lissajous Do Ryu

A Poem by Jordan Lafavor

The Music started Booming
As he took the stage...
He whipped out those chux
And like fire. They raged

After a few seconds
The crowd was totally silenced...
In awe of a Martial Artist
Not focusing on violence

I heard them cut through the air
Like a blade ripping through time...
The rhythm of light
Competely controlled by his mind.

The remnants of motion
Left to dance in the air...
Look around at the audience
With their jaws dropped they stare.

Dressed completely in black
He can hide behind color...
With a tempo that's blazing
And a rhythm like no other.

With a flow razor sharp
He is technically advanced...
Bouncing around his body,
Like they were on strings... They Danced

"That's the best thing I've ever seen"
I can say without bragging...
But that's what it's like
