The witnessing of a Shuttle Launch, is an extraordinary event. The patriotic pride and kinsmen ship
felt, goes to the heart of everyone that attends the launch.
NASA is a wonderful host to the audience that they so graciously invite to such an event.
Mary & I enjoyed talking with everyone that we met.
You could feel an energy that was truly unique to the event, and it was shared by all.
The bleachers provided by NASA for the viewing, could not have been better!
We all sat together as American's and citizens of the world, this coming together to celebrate our
Star Voyagers (Astronauts) was the experience I have missed in the televised
world of today. Nothing can replace having been there!
The audience truly became ONE SPIRIT of HOPE.
It is precisely this feeling of unanimity that is lost by witnessing such an event through the medium
of television, there were no "spin-doctors", to slant an agenda and to cloud the event with rhetoric.
We were so proud of the audience itself, young and old...
East Coast & West Coast and Europe to China....
All witnessing the Future and Beyond!

Thank You NASA! for an event of Freedom that benefits the entire world,
as a true sharing of optimism.
As the Shuttle rocketed into the sky, my mind wandered briefly with thoughts of those that
I love, and a hopeful wish to simply be able to describe the event and my wish that they themselves
could have been there. I know that truly, anyone, that I tell will feel the pride and admiration that this special day brought to Mary & I.
As Mary & I discussed the day, leaving NASA, on the long cause-way from the center, any other time or place we would have wished that the traffic of cars would not have taken as long to leave the area ...Uniquely, I did not feel this way at all. I felt as if I was leaving a family reunion and I was truly proud just to "be in line". ; )
I would like to Thank my Cousin, Joe Williams. Who is a 40 year veteran of NASA, it is because of
his gracious thoughts of us that we were able to attend the event, as VIP Guests.
I say to everyone who has not taken the opportunity to witness this event, to do so, and I tell you
truly, it affected Mary & I ~ Deeply. As we sat, Mary whispered to me, with a tear in her eye,
"Think of the Brave Men and Women that are sitting on top of that Rocket,
streaming into the sky and then space ".
"God Speed". Truly! became meaningful in front of my eyes.
And to the Crew of the Shuttle and the Sponsors of such an event
We Salute You and say, "God Bless America" that in our lifetime, such a quest could exists."
